Mary Ann was the daughter of John Talkington and Mary Helmick. She was married twice:

1. Charles Wolf, April 24, 1859, Decatur Co., Indiana
Charles died between 1880 and 1897.

2. Jacob Fortner, Oct. 24, 1897, Bartholomew Co., Indiana

Mary continued to use the surname Fortner for several years after Jacob's death in 1902; but by 1920, she had returned to using her former married surname, Wolfe, and her death certificate and obituary were issued as such.

Th funeral of Mrs. Mary Ann Wolfe, who died Thursday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Noble Yeley, near Nortonburg, was held this afternoon at 1 o'clock at the residence conducted by Rev. Collins. Burial was made in the Moravian cemetery at Hope.

Mrs. Wolfe was one of the oldest residents of the county and had practlcallv resided all her life here. She was seventy-nine years old and her and her death was due to a broken hip, which she received recently when she fell on an ice covered street.
