Sharon D. Sturgis, 65, passed away Friday, January 26, 2018, at home peacefully surrounded by her family.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, January 29,2018 at Catawba Baptist Church, burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:45 pm in the church sanctuary. At other times at the home of her sister, Kay and Dennis Merrell.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Al Heyward Sturgis, Jr.; she was a graduate of Rock Hill High School; formally employed by Revco Drug Store, Rock Hill National Bank and retired from Comporium Communications after 20 years of service. She was a lifetime member of Catawba Baptist Church where she was a member of Women of Faith Sunday School class, former teacher of children's Sunday School and a member of Comporium Pioneer Club.
Survivors include her mother, Dorothy Smart Sturgis; brothers Al H. Sturgis III and wife Sheila of Kershaw, SC, Ray Sturgis and wife Louise of Rock Hill; sister Kay S. Merrell and husband Dennis of Rock Hill; six nieces, one nephew; 15 grand nieces and nephews; and her beloved fur baby Roxie.
