Robert Lee Entwistle, 76 years, 11 months, 20 days old, passed away on January 21, 2018 at his home with his wife, Jean by his side.
Bob was born February 1, 1941 in LaSalle Peru, IL to John and Bernice Mabel (Gaull) Entwistle.
Bob was a retired U.S. Army Veteran. He served a total of 22 years in the service and Army Reserves. While in the Reserves, Bob worked as a Mechanic with Armour Swift Eckrich Co. in St. Charles, IL. He retired there after working for 36 years.
On August 13, 1983 Bob and Jean Johnson were united in marriage in Rochelle, IL.
Bob was a Christian and an active member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Ava. He loved fishing, hunting, and cutting wood with his friend, Garry.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Duane “Mick” Entwistle and one sister, Beverly Krieger. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean of the home, four children and their spouses, Robert James & Bettina Entwistle, Germany, Cheryl & Alan Cunz, Cherry Valley, IL, Jeannine & Gene Weber, Rochelle, IL, and Gregory Brown, Kings, IL,12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, one brother, John D. Entwistle, Vancouver, WA, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Bob will be Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery with military honors by the Troy Herd American Legion Post 112 and U.S. Army Detail. Visitation will be prior to service, Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to service time. Officiating will be Pastor Rick Spacek. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
