GRANDMA ADAMS DEAD.
Malinda Adams was born in Rockcastle Co., Ky, May 28th, 1811, and died in Jefferson Co. Kans. Sept 27th, 1899, aged 88 years, 3 months and 29 days. She was married April 19th, 1837, to Johnson Adams who preceded her to the better world just seven years ago. To them were born seven children, two died in infancy, three daughters and one son, Mrs. I. Hull and Mrs. Carrie Barnes of Winchester, Mrs. J. F. Colyer and J. D. Adams of Millwood, Kans., remain to mourn their loss.
In early life Grandma united with the church and remained a faithful, consistent member. During her last sickness she bore her suffering patiently, never complaining and talked of her departure to the better world with great clearness of mind. On Sunday evening before her death she sang, with remarkable clearness, one verse of the old hymn
"When I can read my title clear
To mansions in the skies,
I'll bid farewell to every fear
An wipe my weeping eyes."
