On Thursday, January 11, 2018, our most cherished, Talmadge Alley passed away peacefully in his 80th year.

One of six children, Talmadge Grayson Alley was born on February 27, 1937, at Whitby, the son of Frank Camden Alley (1911-1999) and Lois Manna Jones-Alley (1910-1984). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nyla Maynard (Deceased); and a brother, Mike Meadows (Deceased).

Talmadge was a well-known and respected jeweler in the Beckley community. He owned and operated Talmadge’s Jewelry for 30 years. He had been a police officer in the town of Mabscott and the City of Beckley. His interests included membership in the Beckley Moose Lodge where he was past governor. Talmadge always enjoyed attending and had many friends at the Moose.

In addition to the Alley family, those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Lynn Alley; daughters, Sabrina Alley-Richardson and her husband Tom Richardson, Sherry Alley-Whitely and husband Mark Whitely all of Beckley and Camden Alley of Avon Park, FL; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; four step children; sisters, Patty Bennett of MA and Rebecca Williams of Oak Hill; and a brother, Kenneth Alley of OR.
