SOMERVILLE - A. W. 'Goat' Davis, 73, retired truck driver, died Friday at Germantown Community Hospital-Methodist East after a long illness. Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home with burial in Perry Cemetery in near here. He was a Presbyterian. Davis, the husband of Clara Jewell Powers Davis, also leaves three daughters, Mrs. Patricia Belew of Greenfield, Mrs. Barbara Price of Millington and Mrs. Donna McDowell of Oakland; six sons, Alvin Davis of Oakland, Larry Davis and Jerry Davis, both of Memphis, and Johnny Ray Davis, Mike Davis and Billy Joe Davis, all of Somerville; a brother, Henry C. Davis of Somerville, 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
