Martha A. Sue Griffin, 83, of Evansville, died Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at Deaconess Progressive Care Center.
She was born January 22, 1924, in Evansville, to the late Ora and Mary France. She graduated from Central High School and attended Evansville College.

Sue worked for H.A. Woods Drugs for five years and retired from Mead Johnson Company after 30 years of service.

She liked to garden tomatoes and flowers. She also enjoyed playing cards. Sue traveled the United States extensively with her husband and had made two trips to Hawaii.

She and her family were members of First Baptist Church for 30 years. She then transferred her membership to Grace Baptist Church. She loved her children, grandchildren, and faithful dog, Max.

Sue is a Christian and I'm sure she is with the Lord now. She was an avid I.U. sports fan and was a good friend of Bobby Knight.

Sue was preceded in death by husband of 67 years, Paul H. Griffin.

She is survived by her two children; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; son, Paul Gene (Beaver) Griffin and wife, Juanita, of Evansville; son, Roger L. Griffin and wife, Janet, of Evansville; grandchildren, Julie (Griffin) Gonzalez and husband, Ernie of Evansville, Mike Griffin and wife, Linda, of Washington, Ind., Matt Griffin of Evansville, and Elizabeth Griffin of Indianapolis, Ind.; and great-grandchildren, Jill Ann and Ernesto (Bubby) Gonzalez of Evansville, and Jessica, LeAnn, and Eric Nalin of Washington, Ind.

The family would like to thank Sue Smith for the care and friend she has been to Mom.

Services 10 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2007, at Alexander North Chapel, with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to service time at Alexander North Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in behalf of Martha A. Griffin to Shrine Hospitals, in care of Hadi Temple. Condolences may be made online at www.mem.com. Arrangements by Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road.
