MARY JEANNE (JEANNE) BATCHELOR ACKERMANN
Mary Jeanne Batchelor Ackermann, 76, Overland Park, KS, passed away due to cancer. She died peacefully on Saturday, July 9, 2016, surrounded by her children at KC Hospice House. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 23 at United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, Leawood, KS.
Mary Jeanne (Jeanne) was born February, 14, 1940, in Cape Girardeau, MO. The daughter of Allen Ring and Mercelete Batchelor. She graduated from Central Missouri State College where she was a Delta Zeta. Throughout her life, Jeanne was involved with numerous organizations including being a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, PEO Chapter IC, an active member of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection Choir including Christmas at Resurrection, had achieved the rank of Life Master in bridge and enjoyed many bible studies, ladies groups and being with her friends.
Jeanne was preceded in death by Wayne in 2004, her beloved husband of 41 years. Survivors include her three children - Allyson Ellis and husband Curtis, Overland Park, KS; Paige Buckingham and husband Ray "Buck", Lawrence, KS; Matt Ackermann and wife Amy, Atlanta, GA; and 7 Grandchildren: Reid and Heather Buckingham; Brooke, Lukas and Brett Ellis (wife Natasha and daughter Charlotte); Alyssa and Emily Ackermann. Jeanne was an amazing woman who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her family will remember her as an amazing mother and grandmother "Nini" who enjoyed attending the grandchildren's activities and being a part of their lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in memory of Jeanne Ackermann and The University Of Kansas Hospital Organ Transplant Fund, Liver Transplant Program. Mt Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home & Cemetery. Dignity Memorial.
