Clarence Brooks was a kind man who overcame innumerable obstacles in his life before finding peace and happiness in his later years. He lived through the Great Depression, an event which left its scars on him. But he was an extremely motivated and hard-working man who always went above and beyond what was expected of him. He was loved by many a person who befriended him. He was remembered by most with whom he came in contact. He was fair but stern because he knew that was the path to success in the long run. His final years earned him a place inside the gates of Heaven where he was joined by his wife of 48 years in the year 2003. I must admit there were many times I did not agree with what he said to me but now that the years have passed, I realize he was trying to help me, his son. I am proud to say he was my father and I thank him dearly for the advice and love he provided me with during my years with him. May you rest in peaceful eternity forever.
