Gloria Dell Carter Taylor, 78, of North, SC, passed away December 31, 2017. She was the widow of Edward Martin Taylor. Gloria was born January 10, 1939, to the late Troy Carter and Irma Alford Carter. She was predeceased by husband: Edward Martin Taylor; two sisters: Bonnie Hurst and Ruby Jones; and Beloved Pennie.

She attended Amite High School, in Amite, LA and also attended LSU. She was a loving mother, a volunteer at the hospital, and former Sunday School Superintendent and Forever Young Director.

Survivors include her three daughters: Lynda (Randy) Williams of North, Diane Vick of the home, Patricia (Steven) Chavis of North; sons: Frank (Cherry) Vick of Aiken, Mark (Cindy) Vick of North; sister: Patsy Byrum of Orangeburg; ten grandchildren: Amanda W. Landy, Matthew (Annie) Williams, Marshall (Amanda) Williams, Eddie (Ashlan) Chavis, Kayla (Ben) Randisi, Amber Vick, Gregory (Britnee) Chavis, Tammara Vick, Troy Vick and Markie Vick; nine great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Bull Swamp Baptist Church, with the Rev. Darrell Boyleston officiating. Burial will follow in Bull Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home in Orangeburg, SC. Honored to serve as pallbearers are her grandchildren. Alternate pallbearers are the Deacons of the church.
