Kenneth Glenn Smith

Surprise - Kenneth was born on August 17, 1921 in Kewanee, IL, and at the age of 96, joined his eternal family on December 3, 2017. In 1942, Ken married Asunda Marie (Hazel) Lasagna and together they raised four children and enjoyed 69 years of marriage before her passing in 2011. Ken was a veteran of World War II and served in the Navy in the Pacific theatre. After the war Ken returned to his hometown of Kewanee working as a machinist in the local community. In 1959 he moved his family to Phoenix, Arizona, where he worked for the United States Post Office until his retirement in 1983. Ken is survived by his son Michael Smith-wife Donna, son Jeffery Smith-wife Laura, daughter Jeannine Young-husband Gary and daughter Marilynn Smith-husband John Wrublevski (deceased). He and Hazel were blessed with five grandchildren; Aaron, Courtney, Brian (deceased), Sarah and Colette and nine great grandchildren; Carson, Lucas, Waylon, Todd, Harper, Connor, Toni, Emma and Lincoln. Ken was dearly loved and honored by his family and the last of his family's generation to bless us with his humility and generosity. Ken will join Hazel at the National Memorial Cemetery, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd. ARIZONA REPUBLIC 31 DEC 2017
