Roland A. Baxter, 85, of Montgomery passed away on November 28, 2017 surrounded by family. He was born on May 23, 1932 in Aurora, IL the son of Andrew and Amanda (VanDuser) Baxter.
He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a combat medic.
Roland owned and operated Aurora Blind and Shade for many years.
He was a very spiritual and faithful man and enjoyed reading his bible.
He is survived by his children, Roland Jr. (the late Debbie) Baxter, Sharyl (the late Tim) Langreder and Cindy (Frank) Steele; 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and spiritual son Mark Roop as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Pauline, son Gary Baxter, grandsons Benjamin Steele and Gary Baxter, Jr and 8 siblings.
