Rosemarie (“Ro”) Puccio Hartle passed away Tuesday night, October 17, at the tender age of 52. Ro was born in Brooklyn, New York in July 1965 to Anthony and Patricia Puccio. She and her family moved to Las Vegas in 1972 growing up in the area close to Chaparral High School from which she graduated in 1983. She went on to UNLV and attained her Bachelor of Science in Education in 1991 and later received her Masters Degree in Education. At UNLV is where she met her future husband, Kirk Hartle, in 1985. They married in 1989 and had Nicholas Anthony in 1994 and Taylor Nicole in 1996. Ro was extraordinarily dedicated to raising her children. Upon graduating from UNLV, she was an elementary school teacher in the Clark County School District until 2005 and became a stay at home mom. She was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in 2010 which recurred in 2014 and again in 2016. Ro was the epitome of a warrior dealing with cancer, especially the recurrences. The disease is brutal physically, emotionally, and psychologically. She was a gift and blessing to our family and friends and so many others who have crossed her path. She was loving, fun, sassy and sarcastic (in a fun way), beautiful, powerful, relentless, and inspiring. She will be deeply missed. Ro is survived by her husband Kirk, daughter Taylor, son Nick, father Anthony Puccio, sisters Jennifer Ditmore (Zach and Ashley) and Laura Puccio (Alex, Olivia, and Trentin). Services will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 3:30 PM at Saint Andrews Lutheran Church at 8901 Del Webb Blvd, Las Vegas NV 89134. A fellowship will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, our family requests donations be given to the Rosemarie Hartle Memorial Scholarship at UNLV. Please make checks payable to the UNLV Foundation, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway, Box 451006, Las Vegas, NV 89154-1006. Gifts may also be given online at https://netcommunity.unlv.edu/givetoscholarships .
