Josephine Graham Hall, 93, of Bardstown, embarked on her final journey Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, to join her husband Charlie. She was born Oct. 7, 1924, in Chaplin to Vilas and Elizabeth Moores Graham. She spent most of her early life in Bloomfield, attending Bloomfield High School and was the last surviving member of the class of 1942. She worked at Bardstown High School and Wilson Brothers Chevrolet (where she met her husband Charlie). After marrying in 1950, they moved to Bardstown where she was also the bookkeeper for their family businesses, Hall’s Shell, Hall’s Lawn & Garden, and H&H Car Wash. During this time, she raised their four children, always available to attend their activities or drive a carload of kids to whatever class trip they had volunteered her for. She spent her last few years being cared for by the loving staff at Bluegrass Assisted Living and Windsor Gardens, who both loved her as if she were their own mom. She seldom had a cross word and was a joy to anyone blessed to be in her presence.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charlie Hall; and one brother, Gene Graham.

She is survived by two daughters, Beth Mattingly (Larry) of Louisville and Charlotte Pendergrass (Paul) of Cox’s Creek; two sons, Patrick Hall (Mary) and Lee Hall, both of Bardstown; one brother, Thomas Graham (Betty Jane) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two grandchildren, Lauren Mattingly Davis and Curtis Mattingly; one great-grandson, Justin Mattingly; five step-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with the Rev. Joseph Batcheldor and Rev. Terry Bradshaw officiating. Burial is in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 1, 2018, and 8:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2 at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road with a 7 p.m. Monday prayer service.
