88, passed away at the Nazareth Home on April 11, 2015. Her husband F. Robert (Bob) survives her. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary last October.
Two sons also survive her, Dr. Richard J. Fleck, his wife Kathie of Cary, NC and David A. Fleck and his wife Jane of Lawrenceburg, KY. Six grandchildren Stephanie, Missie, Carrie, Brittany, Michelle, Brian and eight great-grandchildren also survive.
Betty was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where she served for 17 years as school secretary. She is a Kentucky Colonel, a Fellow of St. Joseph's College, and she was a 1944 graduate of Mercy Academy. After high school she was employed by the US Corps of Engineers.
Betty is a member of Queen's Daughters, St. Joseph Children's Home, and Little Sister's of the Poor Auxiliary, Our Lady of Lourdes Alter Society, and Bishop Spalding Knights of Columbus Ladies Club. She served on the Board of Directors for Goodwill Industries for many years and was awarded the title of Governor for her service. She also loved card playing and was an enthusiastic Mah-jongg player.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Tuesday April 14, 2015 at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road "in St. Matthews" and at 9:45 a.m., Wednesday at The Nazareth Home Chapel. Mass to celebrate her life will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at the Nazareth Home Chapel, 2000 Newburg Road. Cremation has been chosen.
