Lucy Davis was the daughter of William Davis, Sr. Married William May about 1760. Moved to Anson County, North Carolina where they had a large family. About 1802, the couple moved to Pendleton District, South Carolina where William May, "Carpenter", died in 1807. Lucy Davis May moved to Greene County, Alabama about 1819 with her sons Rev. Philip H. May and Rev. John G. May and the Rev. John G. Morris family, among others who relocated to that locale once Indian lands were opened for settlement. She died 1828 in Greene Co., Alabama.
