Lillie E. Pino, age 89, a lifetime resident of Wagon Mound, N.M., went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 22, 2007, after a brief illness.

Lillie Pino was born to Jose Antonio Encinias and Amalia Salazar on April 14, 1917.

In the late 30s, she attended Girl's Camp in Capitan, N.M. She had three very close friends: Clorinda Garcia, Emma LeDoux, and Margaret Aragon. Later on in life she worked as a waitress in the City Caf/ in downtown Wagon Mound. She lived most of her life in Wagon Mound, except for a short time when she lived in California.

She attended the First Baptist Church in Wagon Mound. All of her time and energy was spent serving her family. We will remember her for her homemade quilts which she made for each and every member of her family, her home cooking, especially her homemade pies.

Lillie was a loving mother who cherished her children and grandchildren, loved God, had a wonderful sense of humor, enjoyed laughter and loved music. If she didn't know you when she walked in, she knew you when she left. She cared about everyone and tried to help many. She had a great memory for family history remembering births, deaths, number and names of children. She would reminisce of her childhood and how she spent her young years visiting her cousins who lived at La Piedra Lumbre. Lillie lived a simple, but full and meaningful life. All her family and friends will miss her.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Jose Antonio Encinias and Amalia Salazar Encinias; husband: Frank S. Pino; brothers: Victoriano Encinias, Julian Encinias, Samuel Encinias; brothers-in-law: Rudolph Sanders and Juan Garcia.
