Funeral services for Charlene Wirt 73, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 am Saturday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, IL. Entombment will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 pm Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3:00 pm. She died Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at her home. Charlene Bender was born April 27, 1944, in Madison, NE, the daughter of Andrew and Luella Schaecher Bender. She was a graduate of Alleman High School. She worked at the Student Union at Palmer School of Chiropractic, Davenport, IA, and later worked for Trinity Health Care, in East Moline. She enjoyed traveling. She was a wonderful grandma, who loved spending time with her her family. Survivors include her children, Richard (Lori) Wirt, Port Byron, IL, Michelle “Shelly” Wirt (Benito Ayala), East Moline, and Jennifer Woodworth (Donnie Hardy), East Moline; grandchildren, Natalie McCorkle, Alex (Bree) Wirt, Rachel Wirt, Katlin Rodriguez, Ian Wirt, Hunter Woodworth, and Zoey Hardy; 3 great grandchildren; siblings, Jerry (Sue) Bender, Silvis, IL, and Mary (Mike) Parr, Moline; sister-in-law, Thelma Bender, East Moline. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, William Bender, and granddaughter, Faith Woodwoorth.
