Ernesto A. "Doley" Trujillo, 76, of Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at his home.
A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, December 22, 2017, 1:30 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jacob Reitz officiating.
Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Ernesto was born to Bernardino and Manuela Trujillo in Loving, NM. He was employed at Brewer and cared for his co-workers and customers. Ernesto was a tradesman in upholstery which was a family trade from his father and brothers. He worked at the bus station rebuilding the busses that took workers to the mines and also worked as a miner at most of the potash mines. Ernesto was a craftsman. He enjoyed building and designing things. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting and looking for caves. Saturday was his day to praise God. He had bible studies in his home for friends and family – whoever wanted to attend. Ernesto will be truly missed by family and friends. He was indeed a unique man.
Ernesto is survived by seven children: Lora Castillo and her husband, Rudy of Visalia, CA, Lorretta Trujillo of Charlotte, NC, Miquela (Mickie) Trujillo Reyna and husband, Carlos of Odessa, Texas, Bernard (TJ) Trujillo and Cynthia Lori of Carlsbad, NM, Mark Trujillo and Diane of Carlsbad, NM, Diana Trujillo Bueno of Odessa, Texas and Siloah Trujillo of Corpus Christi, Texas. Ernesto had 19 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; 1 brother, Eloy Trujillo; three sisters: Ernestina Trujillo Zafarano and husband, Jimmy, Elisa Trujillo Gurule and husband, Manuel and Emma Trujillo. He was preceded in death by his father, Bernardino; mother, Manuela; sister, Erminia T. Carrasco; brothers: Enrique Trujillo, Elmer Trujillo, Eledandro Trujillo and Edward Trujillo and sister, Ester Trujillo Sandate.
