He was engaged in the contracting business from 1907 until retiring in 1942 and in the early years of this business he did most of the city work laying water and sewer mains. He also laid gas mains for the New York State Electric & Gas Corp.
He is survived by a son, Francis J. Sullivan of Ithaca: three daughters, Mrs. May Baer of Sacramento, Calif., Mrs. Margaret Staats Of Haddonfield, N.J., and Mrs. Clementine Noce of Rochester and seven grandchildren.
He was a former member of the Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus and the Maccabees.
