Professional Hockey Player. Born Zarley Bennett Zalapski, he played the defenceman position for five National Hockey League teams (Pittsburgh Penguins, Hartford Whalers, Calgary Flames, Montreal Canadiens, and Philadelphia Flyers) during a twelve year NHL career. He started his hockey career in 1984-1985 with the Fort Saskatchewan Traders of the AJHL. He played one and a half years with them before joining the Canadian National team for two years. In 1986 he was drafted by the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins and played with them for three and a half years before being traded to the Hartford Whalers during the 1990-1991 season. He went on to play for the Whalers for three years before being traded to the Calgary Flames in 1994. He would play for the Flames for four and a half years before being traded to Montreal during the 1997-1998 season. He played for the Canadiens for a half year before joining the Philadelphia Flyers for a brief time in 1999. He would go to play hockey in Europe for several years before retiring from professional hockey in 2010. His career NHL stats included 99 goals and 285 assists for a total of 384 points during 637 games played. He also played for the 1988 Canadian Olympic ice hockey team that came in fourth place.
