Mr. Claude “Wayne” Blackwell, age 49 of Glen St. Mary, Florida passed away Sunday, December 10 following an accident. Mr. Blackwell was a lifelong resident of Baker County, Florida and was a member of the Macclenny Moose Lodge. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved music. Mr. Blackwell also enjoyed camping, cooking, and spending time with his friends and family. Mr. Blackwell is preceded in death by his parents, James “Red” and Wilma Blackwell and brother, James “Sammy” Blackwell. He is survived by one sister, Loretta Rowe (Butch) of Macclenny, Florida: three aunts, Toria Higginbotham (E.D) of Maxville, Florida, Bernice Raulerson and Sally Colee both of St. Augustine, Florida: one niece, Mandi Canaday (Mitch): one nephew, B.J. Rowe (Meggy) and five great nephews. Mr. Blackwell also leaves behind numerous friends. Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Blackwell will be held at 11 A.M., Friday, December 15, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home, with Rev. Sam Kitching officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 10 to 11 A.M. (one hour before services). Interment will follow the funeral services in South Prong Cemetery, Sanderson, Florida.
