Amidst the pleasure seekers, the business men, the men of leisure, the toilers and the idlers alike goes a silent and invisible busy angel whom we call the Angel of Death. While the clock ticks the hours and minutes of life this strange, and to many unwelcome guest keeps busy nipping the bud near the flower there, sometimes a near relative, sometimes a dear friend.

Little does this visitor care when he enters a home whether friends are scare and not to spare, whether the one is prepared or not; when he departs he never leaves alone. He takes sometimes a father, a mother, who seemingly cannot be spared, sometime one or more of the dear ones who make the home complete. We have read and hear much about him, have perhaps had a few visits from him and are getting better aquainted with his ways and motives.

He is still in the neighborhood of Eureka, the
last visit being at the home of Mr. EVAN EVENSON, 10 miles south of Eureka, where upon leaving, he took along with him our friend and father and brother, Evan Evans himself, Evan was born in Dane county, Wisconsin, near Stoughton, April 14, 1857, of the parents Mr. Neri and Mrs. Johanna Evanson.

He left Wisconsin as a youth and came with his parents to Kansas, settling in the community of South Salem. On September 28, 1884, he was united un Holy Matrimony to Miss Onia Ogan. Their lives were blesed with five children. viz, Floyd, Gilbert, Elvin, Alta, and Edith, who survive him. He also leaves three brothers and two sisters to mourn the loss.

May God bless and be the true conforter of the bereaved ones and may our prayers go with them.
