He was born May 29, 1915, in Hazelton, N.D., the son of August and Gunhild Satern Amsrud. On Jan. 14, 1939, Alfred married Betty Ann Harr in Chicago. She preceded him in death on Jan. 1, 1993.
Alfred was formerly a building contractor and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Winchester. He enjoyed boating, gardening and traveling in the United States.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy (Richard) Vercautereh of Green Bay; two sons, Gary (Linda) Amsrud of Green Bay and Jeff (Kathy Helman) Amsrud of Brooklin, Maine; four grandchildren, Sue (Jeff) Trepanier, Donna (James) Bergman, Jennifer Amsrud, and Jayna Amsrud; seven greatgrandchildren, (names omitted by contributor); two great-greatgrandchildren; and a very special friend and companion, Rilla Francis of Fond du Lac. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Services: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel at Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh. The Rev. Clarence Harms will officiate. Entombment will follow.
Visitation: Family and friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home, Eastside, 402 Waugoo Ave., Oshkosh.
