Don was born in Navasota, Texas, to the late Robert Edward and Clara Elnora (McConnell) Goodwin. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Region. Don was employed at Uncle Ben’s Rice as a rice buyer. On November 28, 1947, he was united in marriage to Jessie Fay Wright. Don was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville, founding member, and more recently an honorary member of the Bluebonnet Opry, and James F. Dillon Post #7104 of the V.F.W.
Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years, Fay Goodwin; proud son, Glen Goodwin and wife, Theresa; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. O5
