Myrtle I. Benton, 94, Davenport, died Monday, Sept. 2, 1996, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park.
Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. today.

The former Myrtle Allen was born Aug. 26, 1902, in Davenport, the daughter of William W. and Ida C. Anderson Allen. She married Clarence C. Benton Feb. 14, 1923, in Davenport. He died Dec. 23, 1982.

She was employed as a secretary, last working at Camp Fire Girls of Davenport for 20 years, retiring in 1964.

She was a member of VFW 828 Auxiliary, Davenport, where she was president and secretary, a member of Center for Aging Services Inc. and American Association for Retired Persons.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles.

Survivors include a daughter, Mildred I. Dain, a granddaughter, Suzanne Lewis, a sister, Ethel V. White, all of Davenport; and nieces and nephews.
