Harold was the son of Earl Whiteley & Grace Josephine (Cook) Whiteley. His mother died when he was just one year old. He was sent to live with his mothers family the Cooks for awhile. Later his father Earl remarried, and called for him and he lived at the Whiteley Ranch in Walla Walla, Washington. Harold was instrumental in helping his father build their ranch house. He was a hard worker. He had 4 younger brothers.
On June 22, 1944 in Great Falls Montana, Harold married Louna Schenk. Over the years Harold lived several places in Montana, and finally in Logan, Utah. He had worked on Ranches, operated heavy equipment, and worked in maintenance at Utah State University. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Harold & Louna were married for 55 years. They had no children.
