Suggested edit: Rites Thursday for Former Resident
Mrs. Reba Christensen, former resident of Kenmare, and in more recent years a resident of the Lutheran Home and the Americana Nursing Home in Minot, passed away at Minot, Monday evening. She had been semi-invalid for many years.
Funeral Services will be held from Nazareth Lutheran Church in Kenmare, Thursday at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Stan Rosengren officiating. Interment will be made in the Rosehill Memorial Park in Minot. The Ringen-Sorensen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Gorn at Goodwin, South Dakota, July 29, 1884, she came to Carpio with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Benedict, when they homesteaded in 1902.
She taught in area schools and moved to Kenmare about 1920 and was employed as a bookkeeper until her marriage there, on May 31, 1923, to Christian Bernard Christensen, of Minot. After Mr. Christensen's death on June 8, 1926, she returned to Kenmare and resided there until about 1950 when she moved to the Lutheran Home.
Surviving are a son Cyril, of Edina, Minnesota and a daughter Mrs. Marshall Tippets of Ukiah, California., and two step-daughters, Mrs. Howard Hall of inverness, Montana and Mrs. Gayle Cartright of Long Beach, California. There are six grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one step-daughter, three brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Christensen was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church.
