She married Andrew James on November 7th 1953. Frances and Andrew were blessed with one child. Frances and Andrew made their home in Floydada for many years, moving to Tulia for a few years, then back to Floydada and Plainview. She moved to Arkansas in later years to be near her Son and Family. Andrew preceded her in Death on March 22nd 2004. Frances was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who always went out of her way to help and care for people. She worked in local Floydada restaurants for many years where she was always loved and appreciated by everyone who came to know her. She loved to host family get togethers, cook and read. But most of all she dearly loved her family, always spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Frances was 1 of 13 children born to James and Vera.
She is preceded in death by 6 brothers and 4 sisters.
She is survived by one sister and husband, Gayle and Jimmy Scott of Tulia Texas, a brother, Rannie Vickers of Gig Harbor, WA., Son and wife Donny and Julie James of Bentonville, Arkansas. Two grandsons and wives, Dustin and Kourtney James of Greencastle, IN., Hayden and Autumn James of Jacksonville, NC. Two great grandchildren, Brantley and Brighton James of Greencastle, IN., along with many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
There will be a viewing at Bartley Funeral Home in Plainview, TX. Friday, December 1st from 6-8 p.m. There will also be a viewing at the First Baptist Church in Floydada, TX. Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Lunch and visitation for the family from 12 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., and the Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. Interment will be at the Floydada Memorial Park.
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers are suggested to the American Cancer Society or St. Judes Children's Hospital.
