Artie Marie (Boggs) Smith, age 78, of Lexington, Nebraska died November 24, 2017 at Bryan Medical Center East Campus in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Artie was born on June 10, 1939 in Lexington, Nebraska to Darrell & Clara (Jolliffe) Boggs where she grew up and attended Lexington High and graduated with the Class of 1957.

Artie was united in marriage to Irl Morris Smith on April 15, 1961, at Berean Fundamental Church by Pastor Keith Blood.

Artie was employed over 25 years at the Lexington Dry Cleaners as a master seamstress.
Artie enjoyed many hobbies: camping, playing cards, going out to eat with friends (favorite was Olive Garden) baking desserts like her famous brownies, board games, sewing for many friends & relatives.
She loved to go out with her sister Darla for coffee & shopping @ Wal-Mart visiting friends at the Plum Creek HealthCare Community many times a week. Artie enjoyed watching tennis, baseball (Cubs was her favorite team) and many other sports. Artie & Irl enjoyed camping and going to musical festivals and trying different places to eat at. Artie enjoyed spending time with her family. She always showed unconditional love for her grandchildren and special care for them.

Artie is survived by her

Daughter Jennifer (Roger) Summer of Elwood, Nebraska,
Son Christopher (Alayna) Smith of Lexington,
sister Darla (Melvin) Bye of Overton,
sister Linda (Wayne) Maaske of Bertrand &
brother Franklin (Donna) Boggs of Bertrand,
5 grandchildren Haley, Julian, Logan, Taylor & Blake 1 great-grandson Grayson, as well as
aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family & friends.

Artie was a member of the Berean Fundamental Church for over 60 years.

Artie was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, aunts & uncles.

Artie was a Christian and believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior.

Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington.

Memorials are suggested to the Berean Bible Church or Club 180 in Lexington.
