Fannie Lou Arthur Jenkins, 83, of Flatwoods, peacefully passed away, Friday, Nov. 24, 2017, after a long illness at the home of her daughter, Bobbie, surrounded by her and several grandchildren.
Fannie was born March 27, 1934, in Harriman, Roane, Tenn., to the late Joseph and Hazel Cox Arthur.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Shelvy "Shag" Jenkins; three sisters, Lucille Huffman, Betty Sparks and Shirley Proctor; and a brother Paul "Butch" Arthur.
Fannie was a former employee of Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. She loved sewing, quilting and crafting.
She is survived by her two daughters, Bobbie (Eddie) Thomas of Flatwoods and Billie (Keith) Mason of Ohio; two sons, James "Jim" Jenkins of Florida and Joseph "Joe" Jenkins of Ashland; a brother Robert "Bob" Arthur of Ockachobee, Fla.; one sister, Ruth Ramey of Lewisburg, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods with the Rev. Tom Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ashland Community Hospice or an Alzheimer Association of your choice.
