Joseph Farrell Willis, age 83, passed away November 19, 2017.
Joe was born in North Carolina on April 14, 1934. He grew up on the Gulf shores as a commercial Fisherman.
He moved to Texas in 1957. There he met and married Anne Adams in 1965. Together they opened Falcon Seafood in 1980 and they retired in 1998, after selling the business. He then helped Anne in running Swedes Real Estate.
Joe was a founding member of, and instrumental in, the creation of the CBVFD. He was also a long-time member of the FOE in Crystal Beach.
Joseph was a beloved member of his community and became Papa Joe to friends and family. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, but quietly supported Annes team, The Houston Texans.
Joe is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Anne Willis; sons, Tim Willis and wife Beverly and Leonard Willis; grandchildren, Devin Willis and wife Alexis, David Willis and wife Sonja and Victoria Willis; great-grandchildren, Kaydence Willis, Gabriella Willis-Blevins and Joseph James Willis. Along with brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
He will be missed by his many family and friends.
A gathering of Mr. Willis family and friends will be 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., Friday, November 24, 2017, at First Baptist Church of Crystal Beach, 1260 SH 87, Crystal Beach. His funeral will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, at First Baptist Church, Crystal Beach, with interment to follow at Crystal Beach Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Broussards, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont.
