Age 89, a son of the late Adelena "Lena" B. Amendola and Cesare A. Alo.

Rudy was a lifelong resident of Erie, graduating from Erie Technical High School, Class of 1946. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and honorably discharged in 1953. He worked his entire career at Hammermill Paper Company, where he met his wife, whom he married May 2, 1953. He retired in 1988, when International Paper Company, who had acquired Hammermill, moved their operation to Memphis, Tenn. Rudy was a member of the Erie Maennerchor Club and St. George Church. He was a former member and manager of the Cesare Battisti Social Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Marilyn E. Lyons Alo, on July 24, 2016; and by his brothers, Anthony J. and Egilio R. Alo.

Survivors include a daughter, Deidre (Alo) Bender and her husband, Walter R. Bender, Jr.; grandson; his brother, Armand J. Alo, of Erie; sisters, Vilma (Alo) Paterniti, of Erie, and Dolores (Alo) Fresch, of Phoenixville, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

Entombment in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
