Brenda Ruth Szumigala, age 77, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away Friday, November 17, 2017 in Ocean Springs.
Brenda was a native of Biloxi, MS and a longtime resident of Ocean Springs for the past 54 years. Brenda was a retired Certified Professional Insurance Woman and former President of the Professional Insurance Women of the Gulf Coast. She was also a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David T. Szumigala; her son, Michael Szumigala; her sister, Linda Braun; and her parents, Jason and Florence Jermyn.
Brenda’s survivors include her sons, Brad “Z” (Melissa) Szumigala and Charles D. (Faith) Szumigala, both of Ocean Springs, MS; her brothers, Jason “Zeke” Jermyn, Matt (Stephanie) Jermyn and Paul “Mickey” (Jill) Jermyn all of Biloxi, MS; her grandchildren, David and Andrew Szumigala and Lauren (Jordan) Melendez; her step-grandchildren, Zack, Mack and Jack (Alyssa) Bozman; and her great-grandchildren, Jaxon Melendez, Annabella and Cassondra Bozman.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society or to the Jackson County Animal Shelter.
Funeral Services will be held at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 9:00 am until service time.
Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
