John R. Stone, 69, of Cuba, passed away at 5:38 PM on Friday, November 17, 2017 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL. He was born on January 25, 1948 in Canton, IL to Robert and Ruth (Malone) Stone.

John is survived by nine children, CJ Mott, Mickey Stone, Bobby Stone, Lonnie Stone, Tommy Stone, Jamie Ebbert, Dede Stone, Josh Stone, and Beth Reed; Twenty-two grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and life partner Sharon Frank.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jerry Stone, and three grandchildren, Shawn Stone, Jacob Stone, and Joshua Stone.

John was a Semi Truck driver for many years, he enjoyed camping and fishing.

John was in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton, IL with military honors. Rev. Layton Malone will officiate. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL before the service. Memorials can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
