Elizenia "Zinia" Louise McDuffy, 43, of the 2800 block of Victoria Ave., a retired Army sergeant first class, died June 7, 1993, in a local hospital.

Mrs. McDuffy was born in Norfolk County and retired five years ago with 10 years of service. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Chesapeake, its Senior Choir and also sang with the Gospel Chandelier Singers, Norfolk. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star Laurel Chapter (NU)118, Order of Golden Circle of Georgia. Her military awards include Meritorious Service, Army Commendation, Good Conduct and Letter of Appreciation.

Survivors include her husband, George McDuffy; one daughter, Christie Irene McDuffy of Norfolk; one stepson, Wa'Juba McDuffy of Los Angeles; her mother, Irene Scott Veale; her father, Curtis Veale; one sister, Evon Veale Carpenter; and one nephew, Byron Veale, all of Norfolk; mother-in-law, Mary Loveless of Dallas; five brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Bethany Baptist Church, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Jake Manley. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Friends may assemble with the family at 2811 Victoria Ave., Norfolk, on Saturday at noon for the processional to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service is handling arrangements.
