Vandergrift
Albert Perri, 88, of Vandergrift died Thursday, April 28, 2005 in V.A. Medical Center, Pittsburgh, where he was a patient for one day.
Born Oct. 24, 1916, in DuBois, he lived in Vandergrift most of his life.
Mr. Perri was a machinist at U.S. Steel Research, Monroeville, before retiring in 1982.
A 20-year veteran of the U.S. Marines, he served as a Master Sergeant in World War II and Korea. He was a prisoner of war in Japan, received the silver star in 1942, and was at the Inchon Landing.
Mr. Perri was a member of St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church and the VFW, both in Vandergrift.
Survivors include 2 sons, Robert Perri of Vandergrift and Albert Perri of Los Angeles, Calif.; 3 brothers, John Perri of Arnold, Anthony Perri of Baltimore, Md., and Nick Perri of Vandergrift; and a sister, Mary Grande of Vandergrift.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Eva Perri; a brother, Joseph Perri; and 2 sisters, Lena and Catherine Perri.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2005, in the BRADY-CURRAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 429 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift, where services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2005, with Father Leo Rothrauff, OSB, officiating. Burial will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Vandergrift. Memorial requests may be made to St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, 303 Franklin Avenue, Vandergrift, PA 15690. The Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard will conduct services on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
