Earl L. Boyer, 49, died this morning in his residence at 3433 Fairfield St., Laureldale.
He was born in Oley, a son of Elda (Dry) Boyer and the late Harvey F. Boyer. He was employed as a laboratory technician for Glidden Co., and was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale, and served as assistant superintendent of its Sunday school.
Boyer was affiliated with the Berks Athletic Club, Reading Old-Timers Basketball Club, was financial secretary of the Central Fire Co., and its beneficial association, Pikeville Sportsmen's Club, Blandon Hunting Camp, Blandon Fire Co. and its beneficial association, Berks County Policemen's Assn., Camp 68, POS of A, Hyde Park; Mountain Laurel Rod and Gun Club, Northmont Fellowship Club and the Fleetwood Orioles, No. 23.
He was also a member of Lodge 62, F&AM; Firemen's Relief Assn., Painter's Local 1309, United Lutheran Church Men, Muhlenberg Sportsmen's Club, VVVs, Reading Foremen's Club, and Cavon Sportsmen's Club, Blackville, Pa.
Surviving are his mother, with whom he resided; his widow Evelyn M. (Yohn) Moyer; a daughter, Darlene Ann, at home; a sister Mae, widow of Harold Bossler, Reading; three brothers: Guy K., Wilmimgton, Del.; Henry D., Temple R.D. 1, and Paul L., Lakewood, Calif.
Funeral services will be in the Mertz Funeral Home, Laureldale, on Friday at 1:30 p.m., the Rev. Mark K Trexler officiating. Burial will be made in Frieden's Church Cemetery.
