Funeral services for Jay Louis Williams, 71, were held in the Methodist church Sunday afternoon with Rev. Wm. Bohi conducting the services.
Misses Sue Ann Whitman and Janice Hansen sang three numbers accompanied by Mrs. Carl Barth. Casket bearers were: C.S. and Arnold Barth, Harold Shimon, Ned Goodchild, O. D. Van Horsen and Bert Jacobson. Interment in Washington cemetery.
Jay Louis Williams was born in Jefferson county, Iowa, Feb. 13, 1887, and died in his home at Havelock, Iowa on May 16, 1958. He moved with his parents to Pocahontas county when a small boy and resided here until his death.
He was united in marriage to Kate Claussen, Dec. 23, 1908. To this union were born six children; Mrs. Bennie (Ethel) Wolfe of Menlo Park, Calif; Dale Williams of Sioux Rapids; Mrs. George (June) Davis of Emmetsburg; Mrs. Charles (Ruby) Davis of Burt, Arnold Williams of Denver, Colo., and Lee Williams of Des Moines.
He is survived by his wife, Kate, six children, 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, four brothers and four sisters.
