Mrs. Ray Oberle Dies Early Today; Funeral Monday
Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 11 for Mrs. (Gladys) Raymond Oberle, 68, who died early today in Shawano.
Rev. Gerald Wick will conduct the funeral services at 1:30 p.m. at the Peace United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
The Karth-Kopitzke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday until 10 a.m. Monday and then at the church until time of rites.
Mrs. Oberle was the former Gladys Gallagher, born Jan. 30, 1904 at Oconto Falls, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Gallagher. She attended school in Oconto Falls and the Green Bay Business College before coming to Shawano in 1926. She worked for Judges Jaeckel and Dillett at the courthouse and also served as court commissioner for Judge Parnell before her retirement.
The deceased was united in marriage to Raymond Oberle on May 18, 1931. Survivors include her husband, sons Lowell of Shawano, and Gerald of Whitewater and ten grandchildren. Three sisters also survive. They include Mrs. Madeline Pipgrass and Mrs. Emma Messinger, both of Oconto Falls, and Mrs. Joyce Hodgins? who resides in Florida.
Mrs. Oberle was very active in various women's organizations, the Peace United Church Christ and a member of the Rebekah Lodge of which she was past Noble Grand. A lodge service will be conducted at the funeral home Sunday.
