OBITUARY:
Rites Conducted For Clyde Brown
Clyde A. Brown, 74, 324 E. Wall Street, died at 8 a.m. Saturday at his residence.
A member of American Legion Post 139 and World War I Barracks 207, he is survived by three sons, William, St. Petersburg, Fla.; Robert, Shelburn, and Rev. Frank Brown, Danville, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Brown, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Joann Jett, Oaklandon; one brother, John Sullivan; two sisters, Mrs. Mamie Clark, Graysville, and Mrs. Ovaline Hoilman, Merom; 17 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of Bob Brown, owner of Brown Ford Sales of Sullivan.
His wife, Cleo, preceded him in death.
Services were held at 2 p.m. today at the Alexander Funeral Home, with Rev. Michael Julian officiating. Burial was in Johnson Cemetery, where American Legion Post 139 conducted graveside rites.
