John B. Barbour Jr., 88, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 7, passing away at home.

He was born Jan. 28, 1929, in Olive Branch, Miss., to John and Evelyn (Bailey) Barbour.

After high school graduation, he served three years in the U.S. Air Force.

He married Marie Horn on July 15, 1950, in St. Louis. They lived in Tennessee and Mississippi before moving to Colorado, where he continued working for the FAA. In 1998, they moved to Cheyenne and he helped build a new home.

He loved God and his family, especially giving the little ones rides on his tractor. He enjoyed flying his private small plane, hunting, fishing and playing his guitar for entertainment.

John is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marie; two sons, Gene (Corine) and Michael Barbour; daughter, Karen Berdinner (Richard); sister, Margaret McClain (Jimmy); grandchildren, Amy Townsend (Philip), Alisa Gentry, Kael, Anna, John Luke and Aria Barbour, and Erick Berdinner; and great-grandchildren, Faith, Elijah, Marley, River and Elliott.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Walter, David, Mark and James; and grandson, Ryan Berdinner.
