Keedysville - RUTH LEOTA RHODES, 79, of 18375 Mansfield Road, died Thursday, June 15, 2000, at Washington County Hospital. Born Aug. 18, 1920, in McConnellsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson and Jessie Sarah Mellot Keefer.
She is survived by three daughters, Geraldine Barnes, Faye Gatrell, and Sarah Caruso; four sons, Lee R. Rhodes, Gerald S. Rhodes, Paul L. Rhodesand Donald R. Rhodes; a sister, Maye Carbaugh of Pennsylvania; four brothers, Charlie Keefer, Reed Keefer, Wilbur Keefer and Robert Keefer, all of Pennsylvania; 17 grandchildren, including 6 whom she raised; 50 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son; a sister, Alice Carbaugh; a brother, Lee Keefer; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Services were held at Minnich Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Burial was in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
