Born in Swampscott, he was the son of the late Antonio and Jessie (LeFabre) DeJoy.
He was raised in the Lowell area, and had lived in Lynn since 1960.
Michael served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict, and was a Bronze Star recipient. He worked as a carpenter for the Lynn Housing Authority for 20 years until his retirement in 1990. Prior to that, he was a self-employed plasterer. Michael was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Valladolid Council #70, Lynn, and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survived by his wife; 3 daughters, Kathy Grenier and her husband Ray of Lynn, Joan Bergofsky and her husband Eric of Exeter, NH, and Mary Suslak and her husband Mike of Paxton; two sons; Michael DeJoy and his wife Janice of Burlington and Brian DeJoy of Boca Raton, FL; his daughter-in-law; Rosemary DeJoy of Swampscott.
Also survived by 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Father of the late James A. DeJoy and Thomas C. DeJoy.
Brother of the late Louise Hall, Esther Webb, and Dominic, Raymond and James DeJoy.
Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
