FRED C. HOPPIN OF VIRDEN DIES; ILL SHORT TIME
Virden, Nov. 4. - Fred C. Hoppin, 40, well known local druggist, died at 9 a.m., Nov. 4, 1936, at Passavant hospital, Jacksonville following a brief illness of pneumonia.

He was born Aug. 25. 1896 near Pawnee, a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Hoppin.

He served in the World war.

He was a member of the local American Legion post.

Mr. Hoppin also was a member of the Waverly Masonic lodge.

Surviving are his wife, Ethel; one daughter, Lu Ann; mother, Mrs. Marian Hoppin, Virden; one brother, Charles Hoppin, Virginia; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Harney and Mrs. Florence Stirman, both of Springfield; and Mrs. Caroline Wood, Omaha, Neb.

The body was at Duckworth funeral home in Virden and was taken to the residence on North Springfield street.

Funeral services were at the Methodist church.

Interment was in Virden cemetery.
