Former Waverly Resident Dies
George L. Hoppin, formerly of this city, died at his home in Virden, Monday night at the age of 77 years. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock in the Virden Presbyterian church, Rev. W. R. Coventry officiating. Burial was in Waverly cemetery.
Mr. Hoppin is survived by his wife, Marian; three daughters, Mrs. Charles Wood, Omaha, Neb.; Mrs. O. J. Harney, Springfield, and Miss Florence Hoppin, at home; two sons, Charles, Virginia, and Fred C., Virden; two brothers, Fred T., Virden and Frank H., Pawnee; four sisters, Mrs. Otto Kerns and Miss Florence Hoppin, Waverly; Mrs. Nettie Jones, Farmersville, and Mrs. N. L. McTaggert, Divernon.
