She was born on Nov. 8, 1915, in Morral, to Asa L. and Hattie (Bennett) Murphy, both of whom are deceased.
She graduated from Morral High School in 1933. She then married Wilbur L. Park on March 8, 1936, in Mount Victory, and he died Aug. 20, 2004.
Surviving are a son, Myron and his wife, Rosalie Park of LaRue. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Darrin and his wife Terina Park of New Bloomington, Arlin and his wife Julie Park of LaRue and Natalie and her husband Jason Morgan of Columbus; six great-grandchildren, Brandon Park, Colt Park, Abbi Park, Alyson Park, Megan Park and Brianna Morgan. Also surviving is one brother, Gilbert "Gib" and his wife Joyce Murphy of Nevada; and two sisters, Wanda Atkins of Willard and Marjorie and her husband Paul Sabo of Bucyrus. Vera was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur; and three brothers, Cletus, Donald and Asa Murphy.
Vera was a homemaker and helped her husband out on the family farm for many years. She was a member of Fairpark Baptist Church in Marion, Ohio, where she taught Sunday School for many years and baked many pies along with other baked goods for the church. She enjoyed canning, sewing, making quilts and was an avid reader. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family shared also that she had the patience of Job and a "common approach" to life.
