Francis, my great great great grandfather was the son of John Arthur* (1746-1816) and Elizabeth Cheeseman* (1751-1837).
Francis had nine brothers and sisters: Sarah Ann (Merritt) (1773-1860), Francis, Jacob Cheeseman (1776-1849), Thomas (1778-1779), Harriet (1780-1781), Elizabeth (Clapp) (1782-1855), Augustus Churchill (1785-1787), John Augustus (1787-1851), Marie (Field) (1789-1846), Edward Paul (1792-1826).
Francis married (i) Mary Grant* (1777-1827) They were married in Pawling, NY on Sept. 16,1798. He then married (ii) Sarah Serena Bennett* (1825-1882). They were married on March 19, 1833 in Ticonderoga

Though Francis and his first wife Mary were buried in a small Arthur cemetery there is a monument to all buried there in the Mount Hope Cemetery on the grave of Sarah, his second wife.
