April 6, 1968, Yager, California - Brother of Mrs. Lillian Bassford of Eureka, Uncle of Mrs. Lena Black of fortuna, Mrs. Charlotte Forbes of Fortuna, Mrs. Mabel Jasper of Oakland, Mrs. Carol Godfrey of Fortuna, Mrs. Irma Pollard of Fortuna, Mrs. Verna Epps of Hayfork, Mrs. Erla Jadro of Fortuna, Harold Crabtree of Yager, Mrs. Betty Ko?? of Eureka, Mrs. Lola Schmidt of Fortuna and Mrs. Virginia Bannon or Eureka. He is also survived by a number of great nieces and nephews in this area as well as a number of nieces and nephews and others elsewhere.

A native of Upper Lake, making his home in the Yager area over 58 years. He had been a rancher most of his lifetime in partnership with his brother and had been in the annual cattle drive for Tooby and Prior ranches for over 50 years. He had also been employed over 35 years for the county in road maintenance. A member of the Humboldt Wool Growers Association, the California Wool Growers Association and past member of the Eagles Lodge. Age 84. Services will be held at Goble's Fortuna Mortuary, Thursday April 11 at 10:30 am with the Reverend James Hastings officiating. Internment Ocean View Cemetery, Eureka. Pallbearers will be nephews: Zane Epps, Paul Jadro, Harold Pollard, George Black, Jim Godfrey and Garland Bannon.(end)
