He graduated from El Paso High School, received his associates from E.P.C.C and attended UTEP.

He went on to work for the El Paso Police Department for 28 years. He worked ID and Records, Internal Affairs, Traffic Division; he was promoted to Sergeant and went to the FBI Academy.

After retirement he went to work for E.P.I.S.D, Investigator with County District Attorney and as a bailiff with Judge Robert Dinsmoor and Judge Angie Barill.

Served in the Marines, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, council 6711, was a past Grand Knight, belonged to the 19th Rifle Company USMCR.

Al was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, he loved to dance, especially to 50's music, and had a great sense of humor.

He is preceded in death by grandparents, Luis and Susana Soto, son, Louis A. Borunda.
